Rain isn't so bad
A lot of people don't like the rain. It makes them depressed. Not me, I look it as a nourishing addition to my garden. It helps plants grow.

waiting for spring
It looks like my indoor seedlings will have to wait another few weeks to make the transition out into the ''real'' world. With day time highs of only 9 degrees they are better off inside for the time being.
I had my first taste of pasta with stinging nettle today...not too shabby. I am inspired to make stinging nettle chips in the dehydrater, adapting a tried and true kale chip recipe. Will post the results when the project is done.

Stinging Nettle
My favourite time of year...the earth warms and stinging nettle makes its first appearance. Most people are unaware of the medicinal properties of stinging nettle tea. Its value as a blood cleanser is unsurpassed. Even a compost heap would sing its praises if it could, providing a superior source of nitrogen. Be grateful for stinging nettle when it shows up in your land as it is a sure sign of excellent soil conditions.
